We have studied the global timing properties of SGR 1806-20 and SGR 1900+14, using observations of the Rossi X-Ray Timing Explorer. We present the behaviour of the bursting activity of both sources between 2-60 KeV and compare their number density distribution to that of terrestrial earthquakes and models for the bursts from soft gamma ray repeaters.
