Nutations are mainly measured by Very Long Baseline Interferometry; GPS data may also be used to measure the Earth orientation parameters. Those measurements allow to infer properties of the Earth' interior, such as the flattening of the core-mantle boundary. We review the present situation starting from the forced astronomical nutations. The observations by the geodesic technics of the Free Core Nutation and potentially the Free Inner Core Nutation excited by the external geophysical fluids are also examined. The forced nutations are additionally influenced by the atmosphere and the ocean at all time scales and they must then be accounted for. We examine how far we can go now in the understanding of the Earth's interior and how much we would progress in the future from better measurements. In that frame, we also examine what new science could be done if additional observations were available.
