The University of Kent's Dust Impact Detection System, DIDSY, was selected as one of the ten experiments to fy on the European Space Agency's Giotto spacecraft to Comet Halley. DIDSY was designed to measure the flux and mass distribution of dust grains in the comet's coma, using a variety of sensors. The components of the instrument and their performance during the mission are described, and the possibility of extending the mission to encounter a second comet is discussed.
