The Geostationary Earth Observatories (GEOs) are a projected element of NASA's Mission to Planet Earth aimed at furnishing excellent time-resolution data required to complement other observations for large regions of the planet's surface. The sensor suite defined for the GEOs encompasses optical imagers, atmospheric sounders, and passive microwave sensors. Attention is here given to ongoing studies of instrument capabilities and their configurational accommodation aboard the three-axis-stabilized GEOs spacecraft.
