The walls of the Valles Marineris canyons are affected by about 50 landslides. The mechanical properties of the wallslopes and the ages of these landslides are basic parameters to understand their formation. We have studied the 3D geometry and the age distribution of 46 landslides of Valles Marineris. The landslides have been identified from Viking and MOC high resolution images. The 3D geometry has been obtained from Digital Elevation Model (DEM) interpolated from MOLA data. The landslides have been classified in 3 geomorphologic classes from the organisation of the surface roughness (ranging from 30 m to 1 km in amplitude) : the 'chaotic' landslides without roughness organisation, the 'decreased roughness without debris aprons' landslides whose roughness decreases from the back of the deposit to the front and the 'decreased roughness with debris aprons' which display a decreasing organisation of the roughness with several debris aprons at the front of the landslide deposit. The eroded volume and the settled volume were measured to compute volume balances. The settled volumes range from 50 km3 to 5000 km3. All volume balances display a deficit ranging from 5% to 70%. The landslides with the largest deficits take place within an enclosed-canyon (Hebes Chasma). This fact reinforces the hypothesis of a karstic origin of this region. The Valles Marineris landslides have large mobilities ranging from 1.8 to 12 implying low coefficients of friction. The chronology of the landslides were obtained by crater count on MOC images. The activity of these landslides spreads out in the time between 1.2 Ga and 8 My excluding the assumption of an unique event. Martian landslides are very young in comparison with the episodes of liquid water presence. The occurrence of this young landslides after liquid water episodes remains an open question.
