In this paper we address the geometrical properties of SOC Flare Models and possible connections to high spatial resolution observations of the solar coronal plasma. We discuss the study of geometrical projection effects and the fractal nature of avalanches in large two and three dimensional Cartesian lattice models and of (nano-)flares observed by the TRACE spacecraft. We examine the differences, and similarities, between the behavior of the lattice model and the observational data.
