Results of a geological-morphological analysis of Venera 13 and 14 panoramas taken of the Venusian surface in the vicinity of the landing sites of these two probes are presented. It is shown that subhorizontally stratified rocks, previously observed during the interpretation of the Venera 9 and 10 panoramas, are widespread on the Venusian surface. The set of features characteristic for the thin-layered rocks of the Venera-14 landing site leads to the inference that they are sedimentary formations, arising as a result of the deposition and lithification of fine-grained material. It is not excluded that weathered lava is present beneath the stratified sedimentary formations.
