The paper examines the mechanism of VLF-wave generation due to the interaction of superthermal fluxes of charged particles with the density irregularity of the charged component of the ionospheric plasma connected with acoustic disturbances in the atmosphere. Equations are obtained for the VLF-wave amplitude as a function of the value of density disturbances of the background plasma and the particle flux.
