We analyze the problem of predominant generation of nonaxisymmetric magnetic fields in the observed spiral galaxies, the Sun, and planets similar to Uranus and Neptune. It is assumed that, in these objects, the hydromagnetic dynamo may operate in relatively thin conducting convective sheets. It is shown that nonaxisymmetric magnetic modes can be generated more readily than axisymmetric modes in such sheets. For this to occur, it is necessary for the gradient of the angular velocity of rotation to be comparatively small and to have a nonzero component orthogonal to the sheet.
