The generation and propagation of high-energy solar cosmic rays (SCRs) are investigated on the basis of neutron-monitor and satellite data, as well as on the basis of numerical solutions of an equation for the propagation of flare-accelerated particles. Among other findings it is shown that the SCR drift has a significant effect on the space-time intensity and anisotropy characteristics of high-energy solar protons. In addition, the shape of the SCR energy spectrum can change significantly during the propagation of flare SCRs from the source to the detection point.
