Scientific paper

The present paper presents a comparative analysis of some existing empirical models of the vertical electron concentration in the ionosphere at mid-latitudes. The results of the analysis are applied to the construction of generalized models, with allowance for the season, the time of day, and the solar activity level, for heights ranging from 60 km to the maximum height of the F2 layer.
