General relativistic equilibrium configurations of a star-toroid system in a stationary axisymmetric space- time have been computed. The system consists of a rapidly rotating polytropic star and a surrounding polytropic self-gravitating thick toroid. As the gravity of the toroid deforms the central star, less angular velocity is needed for the central star to shed mass from the equator. Due to dragging of the massive toroid the angular velocity and the angular momentum can have opposite signs. Thus this situation is similar to the black hole-toroid system investigated previously by Will, Chakrabarti, & Lanza. The Keplerian angular momentum distribution for the spacetime is also discussed.
