Theoretical considerations regarding the nature of the gamma-ray-producing source in the region of the Galactic center are set forth and examined in terms of black-hole accretions. The gamma-ray data are examined, and other stellar parameters from the Einstein source 1E1740.7-2942 are assessed. The Einstein source is theorized to be a black hole similar to Cyg X-1 with a mass on the order of tens of solar masses.
