Suggestions are made for future experiments aboard aircraft to examine the gamma ray flux above 1 TeV in the atmosphere to better understand the anomalous showers from point sources. It is proposed that to explain the point source data it is necessary to reexamine the cosmic ray gamma ray flux above 1 TeV. The observed anomalous showers and a theoretical speculation that could explain the observed data are discussed along with a possible experimental approach to resolve the controversial characteristics seen in the point source observations.
