We found eight pairs of candidate repeating bursts in the First BATSE Catalog sample that were so closely clustered in both position and time that the Poisson probability of their random occurrence was only ~2×10-5. But because onboard tape recorder failures seriously reduced the number of accurately positioned bursts in the Second Catalog, it did not allow us to either confirm or refute the predicted repetition.
