It is noted that balloon and spacecraft measurements have shown significant deviations of the size spectrum of gamma-ray bursts at low energy fluxes from that expected for an isotropic source distribution. Results are described here of two balloon flights (from Alice Springs, Australia, in November 1977 and November 1978) with a detector sensitive to burst sizes lower than previously investigated, thereby providing additional information on the origin of the bursts. A galactic origin with a source distribution originating from a relatively thick disk is seen to be favored by these results.
