Radiative Transfer: Numerical Methods, Radiative Transfer: Scattering

Scientific paper

The radiative transfer through an inhomogeneous plane-parallel medium of anisotropic scattering with diffuse and specular reflecting boundaries is considered. The medium may be illuminated by a diffuse or collimated light and may have an internal energy source. The Galerkin technique is used to solve this problem. The calculations are carried out for homogeneous and inhomogeneous media with isotropic or anisotropic scattering containing uniform or nonuniform internal energy source. Comparison with other techniques are given whenever possible.
