Galaxy mergers and interactions have affected most of the luminous galaxies that we see today. Consequently, understanding galaxy interactions and their results, such as tidally-triggered star formation, is fundamental to understanding galaxy evolution. We propose to complete multi-wavelength measurements of 190 galaxies in pairs and groups, selected from the Updated Zwicky Catalog (UZC) based on proximity rather than morphology, in an attempt to characterize the aggregate effect of interactions on typical galaxies. We have data in the Johnson U, V, B, and R bands, as well as optical spectra, and some J, H and K band data. We wish to complete our J, H and K band data using the Simultaneous Quad Infrared Imaging Device on the 2 meter-telescope at KPNO. This is a continuation of the observations requested in proposal 2007B-0336. Near-infrared data are necessary to characterize the older stellar populations in these systems. The H-K colors will also allow us to detect hot dust around embedded star formation. This data will be used in conjunction with the data already obtained, as well as far infrared data. It is our hope that that these measurements will enable us to consistently distinguish recent bursty star formation from ongoing star formation.
