We present results from a very high-resolution simulation of galaxy formation in a Λ CDM universe. Utilizing a multiple-mass method, we follow the formation of Milky Way and dwarf sized galaxies in a cosmological volume. By employing the two-phase ISM model with star formation recently developed by Springel & Hernquist, we study whether large, rotationally supported disk systems such as seen in the local Universe are produced within dark matter halos in the simulation. We also measure the angular momenta of galaxies and compare our results with observations.
