A two color survey of 9 fields of the first epoch Palomar Sky Survey, centered on the North Galactic Pole, has been performed with the Minnesota Automated Plate Scanner. A set of neural network image classifiers are used to automatically perform star-galaxy discrimination to an imposed O magnitude limit of 20.0. We assess the efficiency of image classification and sample completeness through studies of the plate overlap regions and by comparisons with visually classified and CCD selected samples on various plates. The resultant catalog of galaxy positions, magnitudes, and colors is used to study the large scale distribution of galaxies at the NGP. Particular emphasis is placed on analyzing the structural properties of the Coma cluster and it's surrounding regions. We review a method for deriving the true space density of the Coma cluster using our deep counts. In addition, we study the effective radius of the cluster as a function of limiting magnitude and galaxy color. The effects of background variations are assessed.
