Under the sole assumption of scale invariance of the many-body galaxy correlation functions, the authors calculate the cluster luminosity function, and in particular show that it is a power law with an upper and a lower cutoff. They show that this behavior induces a galaxy distribution that is characterized by two fractal dimensions, 3 - γ in the clustered regions and (3 - γ)ω in the nearly empty region. The parameter ω is related to the behavior of the void probability function at large scales, and this second dimension exists because large voids are present with a significant probability.
