Recently there has been a rapid progress in our knowledge of the nature of the universe. Particularly, many new observational results show a strong challenge to the standard model of the universe. A selection of representative studies are reviewed, including the large scale distribution of dark matter and quasar-stellar objects (QSOs); the associations of low redshift galaxies with high redshift QSOs; the periodicity distribution of redshifts et. al.
