Multi-frequency radiopolarimetry of diffuse Galactic synchrotron emission and polarized extragalactic sources can yield estimates of Galactic magnetic field strength, of maximum scales of fluctuations in the magneto-ionized medium, or enable discovery of magnetic objects which are difficult or impossible to observe otherwise. I will discuss these methods and present the continuum part of the large, arcminute resolution Southern Galactic Plane Survey.
