Star counts, proper motions and radial velocities are combined to analyse the galactic disk structure towards the Galactic Poles. Observations are the 2MASS photometry, the UCAC2 proper motions and the recent RAVE observations of radial velocities. These observations are interpreted with a simple galactic dynamical model. We revisit the local vertical gravitational potential, the structure of the stellar disks: the luminosity function, the kinematics and vertical distribution of thin and thick disks.
