We test Schmidt's law in the 4th quadrant of the Milky Way (MW) using the most complete data sets obtained so far in lines of CO compared with data of ultracompact HII regions of massive star formation (SF). We obtained, for the first time in the southern Galaxy, relations between characteristic kinematics, physical properties of the gas, and the SF rate.
