The effect of an oscillating massive particle on the motion of stars in a spherical Plummer gravitational system is examined for chaotic behaviour for ratios of satellite to parent galaxy masses ranging from .001 to .15. Thee-folding times for chaos are calculated for non-zero angular momentum orbits and discussed in relation to the time-scales for dynamical friction.
