The Galactic All-Sky Survey (GASS) is a large scale project to produce a fully sampled survey of Galactic HI south of declination 0 degrees with 15 arcmin resolution, 1 km/s spectral resolution and a sensitivity limit of 70 mK. GASS will provide a dramatic improvement in resolution and sensitivity on the hugely successful Leiden-Dwingeloo and IAR surveys of Galactic HI. GASS aims to answer questions about the interaction of the Milky Way disk and halo, in particular: how is structure is created in the halo? and what are the kinematics of halo gas? The survey is also uniquely suited to studying the structure of intermediate and high velocity clouds, providing valuable information about their origins, thermal state and their interaction with the ambient medium. Here we provide a status report on the progress of GASS observations and data reduction and request 530 hours in the 06APRS term to complete the survey
