It has been suggested that massive stars form through the compression caused by turbulence in molecular clouds or that they form because of the enhanced gravity in clusters. We examine these hypotheses in the G333 Giant Molecular Cloud by studying the age sequence of its massive star formation. We have found, through inspection of Spitzer IRAC and MIPS images, thirteen objects in this cloud that appear to be isolated massive young stellar objects (MYSOs) and have taken spectral maps with IRS in Spitzer Cycle 5. One object, G333.466-0.163 (IRAS 16175-5002), appears to be a cluster of MYSOs, including one with a molecular outflow and another producing photons that ionize a local H II region. We propose to examine this cluster at the higher spatial resolution of T-ReCS on Gemini-S, to determine the number of MYSOs and their 12/20 micron color temperatures (preliminary to determining their SEDs), and to refine their luminosities. We will use this data with our Spitzer spectra to clarify the sequence of massive star formation, including the production of outflows and ionizing photons, as functions of the masses and ages of the YSOs.
