We propose to observe G332.5-5.6, a puzzling supernova remnant with high radio polarization, central emission with bilaterally symmetric limbs, and evidence for enhanced nitrogen suggesting interaction with circumstellar material. Very recent Suzaku observations of the center show a thermal spectrum not well described by simple models. Higher angular resolution, coupled with spectroscopy, is required to follow up this important object and allow the inference of basic SNR properties such as age and shock speed, and to identify any ejecta emission. XMM-Newton will image the central emission at ten times higher spatial resolution, and allow a search for morphological structure that can illuminate the spectral analysis. We shall observe the limb as well, to search for filamentary nonthermal emission.
