A new class of star cluster discovered in two nearby S0 galaxies, NGC 1023 and NGC 3384, may provide important clues about the origin of lenticular galaxies. With no analogs in the MW or elsewhere in the Local Group, these ``faint fuzzies'' define a new parameter space that must be accommodated in cluster formation models. We briefly describe the discovery and distinguishing characteristics of these star clusters and discuss their formation with reference to numerical simulations and in the context of lenticular galaxy formation.
