Preliminary results will be presented which demonstrate the ability of FUSE to measure ionic absorption lines in the Galactic high-velocity cloud Complex C. Data will be presented for the sight line towards MRK 876 and, if the observations are available, the sight line towards MRK 817. In the direction of MRK 876, the absorption signature of the HVC appears in the strong resonance lines of Fe II, C II and O VI in the FUSE bandpass. Neutral hydrogen 21 cm emission in the direction of MRK 876 shows two components at V(LSR)=-175 km/s and V(LSR)=-131 km/s with N(HI)=9.2*E18 cm-2 and N(HI)=2.0*E19 cm-2, respectively. Towards MRK 817, HI 21 cm emission measurements shows a single component at V(LSR)=-109 km/s and N(HI)=3.2*E19 cm-2. The FUV absorption lines will be combined with sensitive 21 cm emission measurements to derive information on gas-phase abundances in Complex C. These results will have important implications for models of the origin and nature of Galactic high velocity clouds and the metallicity of infalling gas.
