Theoretical questions concerning processes before, during, and after star formation are listed. The origin and properties of binary and multiple stellar systems; reasons why most collapsing condensations tend to form binary stars while others form single objects like the Sun, possibly surrounded by a protoplanetary disk; and predicting the sequence of events of star formation in a given cloud with given bulk properties are considered.
