Applications for a high intensity bremsstrahlung source in nuclear structure and in nuclear astrophysics are presented. (γ,γ') experiments at our improved facility can give valuable information about E1/E2/M1 strength distributions up to the particle threshold, and the analysis of (γ,n) reactions with quasi-thermal photon spectra becomes possible by a careful superposition of several bremsstrahlung spectra. .
