High mass X-ray binaries (HMXBs) are important laboratories where to study the characteristics of the accretion processes and the nature of compact objects. For this reason, we have started the determination of the fundamental properties (mass, radius, temperature, etc.) of the optical components in four systems: 2S 0114+65, IGR J00370+6122, XTE J1855-026 and 2XMM J205347.0+442301. The dynamical analysis of the optical component, together with the observed characteristics in X-rays, allows the determination of the fundamental properties of the compact object (e.g. the mass, the accretion rate, etc.). For the studied systems, we have determined preliminary orbital solutions using radial velocities from the INT, the WHT, the Liverpool telescope and the Mercator telescope. The obtained results provide a first insight into a wide range of accretion processes and different compact objects in each one of the studied systems.
