A series of 69 photoelectric observations obtained over the 1981-1987 period has been used to determine the radial-velocity curve of the secondary component of the W Serpentis binary RX Cas. A systemic velocity of -5.65 + or - 0.17 km/s is found, along with a secondary radial-velocity amplitude of 99.20 + or - 0.24 km/s. The results support a model for RX Cas as a semidetached binary whose primary is a mid-B star of mass 5.8 + or - 0.5 solar masses and radius of about 2.5 solar radii and whose cooler secondary is a K1 III star with a mass of 1.8 + or - 0.4 solar masses and a mean radius of 23.5 + or - 1.2 solar radii. It is suggested that the primary star is completely obscured by a cool geometrically and optically thick accretion disk which is supplied by mass transfer from the secondary.
