AGILE (Extremely Light Imager for Gamma ray Astrophysics) is a small scientific satellite for the detection of γ-ray cosmic sources in the energy range 50 MeV-30 GeV with a large field of view (1/5 of the sky). The heart of the AGILE scientific instrument is a Silicon-Tungsten Tracker which consists of 12 planes with two layers of 16 single-sided, AC coupled, 410 μm thick, 9.5 × 9.5 cm2 silicon detectors each. The detector readout pitch is 242 μm with a floating strip configuration. The readout chip is the TAA1, an analog-digital, low noise, self-triggering ASIC with analog readout. The total number of readout channels is about 37000. After the prototype performance studies, the final flight version of the Tracker has been assembled in one year. A large number of tests (e.g. mechanical measurements, thermo-vacuum cycling tests, electrical and functional tests) have been performed on every Tracker element at every assembly step. We present an overview of the test procedures and of the performances of the flight model.
