Si_mCn clusters, which are of interest as astrophysical molecules and species involved in chemical vapor deposition and semiconductor fabrication, have been produced by the Nd-YAG laser evaporation of rods made from mixtures of silicon and carbon powders. This pulsed laser evaporation technique gives well resolved vibrational spectra of the products trapped in Ar at around 10 K. Extensive carbon-13 isotopic shift measurements have been made to assist in the vibrational analysis. Recent results will be reported for this work which is directed toward the identification of novel Si_mCn clusters.
