Sixty-one years after the founding of the Association, we now launch an important new project -- one we have hoped for and needed for many years -- our own Journal of the AAVSO. It will be a place where professional and non-professional astronomers can publish papers on research of interest to the observer, and will also allow us to incorporate under one cover many of our miscellaneous publications, such as Abstracts, Committee Reports, Minutes of Meetings, Observer's totals, and Book Reviews. Let us all wish the Journal and its Editors the very best success.
