The authors suggest and also use a test for evaluating the accuracy of some of the harmonic (Stokes) coefficients in the Earth gravity field models (EMs). The results of resonant phenomena serve as a standard for testing the EMs. The main result of the test is that a good consistency in shape and phase shifts exists for recent EMs, but even for orders 12 ≤ m ≤ 15, where recent EMs are believed to be very reliable, some increase of the original accuracy estimates given by the authors of the EMs is needed. In general the accuracy has to be increased 2 - 3 times to achieve the real accuracy of the EMs.
