A method proposed in a previous paper is used to determine the mean frequency of supernova explosions in Sb galaxies. Individual supernova explosions are treated as a sequence of random events which can be described by Poisson's law. Comparison of the computed time intervals between the supernova explosions in different types of Sb galaxies showed that the frequency of supernova explosions is more strongly dependent on morphological characteristics than on size or star population. It is found that: (1) the time interval between supernova explosions in Sb galaxies brighter than 12.0 is 122 years; (2) the mean frequency of supernova explosions in Sb galaxies is more than 50 percent lower than in Sc galaxies.
