Using measurements made at 3 sites, correlation coefficients are
calculated between both the period and the frequency of a Pi2, on the
one hand, and the planetary magnetic activity index and the magnitude of
the accompanying auroral bay, on the other. The coefficients are
consistently larger for frequency than for period.
