Using a perturbation method, analytical solutions are developed for the combined free and forced flow through a very porous medium bounded by a semiinfinite vertical porous plate. The solutions are obtained near the leading edge of the plate and are complementary to the numerical results reported by Raptis and Perdikis (1988). The solutions demonstrate the effects of suction/injection and gamma on the skin friction.
