Studies of massive (pre)cluster forming clouds provide first glimpses of conditions for cluster formation. We present 1.3mm continuum and spectral line images of a (pre)cluster forming region G28.34+0.06 P1 obtained with the Submillimeter Array. Spectral line and dust continuum images with spatial resolutions better than the Jeans length reveal hierarchical fragmentation and heavy chemical depletion. The core masses estimated from the dust continuum emission far exceed the Jeans mass, indicating the importance of turbulence and/or magnetic fields in the structure formation.
