The paper presents Fourier analysis of the light curves of eclipsing variables and error analysis in the frequency domain. The closed algebraic formulae are derived to provide moments of the light curves of an arbitrary index, and in terms of the coefficients of Fourier cosine series an obtained by the least squares method to fit the data; the uncertainty of the moments is deduced from those of the an's whose values are provided by the observations. The explicit forms of the linear functions for the variation of the respective elements are established in terms of the Fourier coefficients an. The probable errors of these elements can be identified with those of the respective linear functions, and are obtainable from the same matrix of coefficients which provided the most probable values of the elements.
