A cosmological theory which involves an infinite universe is developed within the framework of Newtonian mechanics and the Newtonian theory of gravitation. The cosmological theory takes as its point of departure a physical reference defined by axes originating at the center of gravity of the Galaxy and directed toward three distant galaxies; the universe is modeled as a perfect homogeneous inert infinite fluid which behaves isotropically with respect to the physical reference. It is then shown that the motion of every element of the fluid with respect to the physical reference is regulated solely by Newtonian forces exercised by other elements of the fluid.
