Magnetohydrodynamics: Jets
Scientific paper
The previous study of astrophysical jets has been concentrated on the effects of large-scale magnetic fields permeating accretion disks. However, the existence of such global magnetic fields is not evident in many astrophysical objects. Instead, the magnetic fields, generated in the disks as a result of magneto-rotational instability, can create jets accelerated by the magnetic pressure of the magnetic-tower. We describe our attempt to explore the magnetic-tower jet solution as a unified model of astrophysical jets.
