We have studied the interaction of atomic deuterium on non porous amorphous water ice (np-ASW) surfaces between 8 and 30 K, in conditions close to those encountered in interstellar clouds. We found that the D2 formation efficiency depends on the hydrogen molecules already present on the surface. The formation occurs at temperature lower than 13 K. Besides, the molecules are released in the gas phase in a ro-vibrational excited state. For the first time, we detected molecules excited up to v = 7 level, although higher excited states may be populated as well.
