A random quantity ξ, the number of pairwise mergings in a finite set
of particles, is constructed in a sequential scheme of complex trials.
Let T0, T1,T2,…, Tm,…be a sequence of times. We then have a
discrete approximation of the process of mergings by a uniform Markov
chain.
