Observations of formaldehyde 6-cm absorption in the direction of the Galactic Center are presented. The 6-cm line was surveyed in the region between -2 and 5 deg galactic longitude and -0.5 and 0.5 deg galactic latitude by the Jodrell Bank MK II radio telescope with a velocity range of 620 km/sec, velocity resolution of 2.1 km/sec and rms noise level of 0.03 K. Smoothed data are presented in the form of contour maps showing line brightness temperature as a function of position and velocity. Estimates of the radial distribution of formaldehyde in the Galactic Center made on the basis of two kinematic models confirm the very strong central concentration and the minimum at galactocentric distances between 2 and 4 kpc previously observed. The individual adsorption features in the Galactic Center are discussed in detail, and previously detected features, unusually large velocity widths and features apparently associated with H II regions are pointed out.
