P Cygni (B1Ia) was observed with a spectral resolution of 12,000 at 4050-6780 A with a fiber-linked echelle spectrograph combined with a large CCD chip. By averaging 30 spectra, an S/N ratio of not less than 500 was achieved. On this spectrum, many forbidden lines of Fe II and the N II 5755-A line can clearly be seen. The Fe II lines were found to be flat-topped with sharp edges, indicating a constant expansion velocity of 230 km/sec. The forbidden NII line has a rounded profile. It is suggested that the N II line originates relatively close to the star, where the matter is still accelerated rather than far away from the star in a region of deceleration.
